Order and price

What is the minimum order?

The minimum order is 20 pieces per design, for fully hand-blown and semi hand-blown shades alike. It applies to each design separately.

What does a custom shade cost?

Every shade is custom, so we quote after we know the shape, size, color, finish, process and quantity. Prices are ex-works (factory price). Send your drawing and we reply within 12 hours.

Samples and lead time

How long does a sample take?

A fully hand-blown sample takes 7 to 10 days. If your shade needs a mold, the mold takes 7 to 10 days and the sample another 7 to 10 days.

How long does production take?

Usually 15 to 20 days, whether fully hand-blown or with an existing mold. Exact dates depend on quantity.

Payment and shipping

What are your payment terms?

Bank transfer. 50% down payment, and the balance is paid before shipment.

How are the shades shipped?

Prices are ex-works, which means you collect the goods at our factory. We recommend you use your own freight forwarder. If you do not have one, we can introduce one.

What if shades break in transit?

We usually make a few extra pieces to cover breakage in transit. If more arrive broken than the extra pieces cover, we replace them free of charge. Replacement shipping is paid by the customer.

Who pays for the mold, the sample and sample shipping?

The customer pays. The mold belongs to you while it is in use and for six months after the last production run; with no repeat order for the same product in that time, we dispose of it.

How are they packed?

Shades are packed in foam of 8 kg per cubic meter inside cartons, and damage is unusual unless the shipment is handled roughly.

Quality

Will every batch match the sample?

Semi hand-blown shades are formed in molds, so pieces repeat the same shape within a total error of 1 to 2 mm (SIGA workshop estimate, 2026). Hand-blown shades carry small natural variation, which we agree with you on the approved sample.

What glass do you use?

Our shades are made of soda-lime glass. We do not publish a heat limit or a maximum bulb wattage, so send your bulb type and ask for a sample to test.

Design and privacy

What if I only have a sketch?

A drawing or a hand sketch is enough to start. We do not prepare drawings, so the sketch or drawing comes from you. We build a sample to it and send photos before production.

Can you match my lamp fitting?

Yes. Every shade is custom made, so we drill holes and openings to your drawing.

Do you sign NDAs?

We sign NDAs with customers we have already worked with.

What size tolerance can I expect?

Molded shades hold a total error of 1 to 2 mm on diameter and height, and fully hand-blown shades about 5 mm (SIGA workshop estimate, 2026). The accepted range is written into the quote and checked on the approved sample.

Which colors do you make?

Fully hand-blown shades come in 14 colors: Transparent, White, Silver, Black, Gold, Light amber, Deep amber, Yellow, Green, Light blue, Deep Blue, Violet, Purple and Pink. Other colors for fully hand-blown shades, such as red, grey or turquoise, can be made on request. Other colors for fully hand-blown shades, such as red, grey or turquoise, can be made on request. Molded shades are mainly transparent and white, and other colors are added afterwards by plating or color spraying. We match Pantone or RAL on request (SIGA, 2026).

Who owns the mold?

The mold belongs to you while it is in use and for six months after the last production run. We keep it for you during that time. If no repeat order for the same product is placed within six months, we dispose of it.
