Blown glass pendant shades for your lights

Blown glass gives a pendant depth that pressed glass does not. We make the shade, you build the light: your fitting, your hardware, your brand.

How a blown glass shade is made

A blower gathers molten soda-lime glass on a blowpipe and shapes it by hand. For semi hand-blown shades the glass is blown into a mold, so the form repeats from the first piece to the last. The mold belongs to you while it is in use and for six months after the last production run; with no repeat order for the same product in that time, we dispose of it.

Natural variation, agreed up front

Hand-blown shades carry small natural variation in wall thickness, swirl and tone. We agree the acceptable range with you on the approved sample, so the production batch matches what you signed off. If pieces must match closely, choose semi hand-blown.

Where blown pendants are used

These shapes suit dining rooms, bar counters, entrance halls, hotel lobbies and restaurants. Read about fully hand-blown shades or browse the shapes we have already made.

What to send us

A drawing or a hand sketch is enough to start; a photo or reference shade can be added to show the look. Add the size, color, quantity and the fitting you plan to use. The custom OEM page shows what happens after you send it.

Questions

Quick answers

Are the shades really blown by hand?

Fully hand-blown shades are shaped by a blower. Semi hand-blown shades are blown into molds. We tell you which process fits your order.

Will every shade look identical?

Semi hand-blown shades are formed in molds, so pieces repeat the same shape within a total error of 1 to 2 mm (SIGA workshop estimate, 2026). Hand-blown shades carry small natural variation, which we agree on the approved sample.

What glass do you use?

Our shades are made of soda-lime glass. We do not publish a heat limit or a maximum bulb wattage, so send your bulb type and ask for a sample to test.
