What it looks like
A tall cylinder of clear glass, open at both ends, wrapped around with irregular threads of glass. The wrapping runs in loose horizontal waves.
Clear glass keeps the bulb visible, and the threads catch the light and add sparkle without adding color.
Process for this shape
A blower forms the clear cylinder and winds hot glass threads around it by hand before the shade is annealed. The wrapping is never exactly repeated, so we agree the range on the approved sample.
