What it looks like
A rounded, squat shade in translucent red-orange glass. Fine vertical ribs run from the small top opening down to the base like the lines of a pumpkin.
Lit, the red glows like embers and the ribs break the light into soft stripes. A row of them over a bar looks strong and warm.
Process for this shape
A blower gathers red glass on the pipe and blows the rounded body, then forms the ribs by hand. Red glass shows thickness differences, so each piece has its own depth of color. We agree the acceptable range on the approved sample.
